Works great for over 3 years now
Up to 400 version
Working from home and needed for phone calls ( all phone signals are too weak inside). 0n Xfinity 300 plan. I can work and kids can stream TV and use phone at the same time. Modem never cut out within the previous 3 years! power shutdown at least 1 per month, Modem always restarts without any issues automatically. Speed is great-at least fast enough for all I do. I recommend it and would buy it again!

 You can't be wrong.
I just needed to replace my modem. It was a different brand installed by the technician I hired a year ago to set up my home network. I choose the Netgear CM700. Netgear has a history of excellent quality. It is affordable, easy to set up, and works every time. You can't be wrong.

Just connected to Xfinity
My xfinity app had been showing for a few months a message that my current modem was no longer supported but may still work. Lately my WiFi router started to drop connection constantly so I decided to swap out both.

The cheapest modem “recommended” by Xfinity was 139. Too much for what I needed with my 200mbps plan. I then looked at ones that were just compatible and I decided on the CM500-100NAS even though some people have posted reviews recently saying it’s no longer supported. But the Xfinity list of recommended and compatible modems that was last updated Nov 22, 2023 (they state that the list is updated quarterly) lists the CM500-100NAS as still being compatible for my service.

I did not follow the included installation instructions given by Netgear. Instead I got on the Xfinity app with my phone using cellular data, and selected “account” and selected “activate xFi Gateway or Modem” under “Devices”. It stepped me through the installation process. Same process as when I installed my Motorola modem in 2020.

It’s only been a few hours but no issues. Will update if anything goes wrong or I find Xfinity decides to not support this modem any longer in the next year.

 Fine Cable Modem
A bit disappointing that it didn't come with a full manual (you have to download it), but otherwise it's a fine modem; easy to connect and set up. No notable performance improvements over the modem that Spectrum supplied me, but this one allows me to actually communicate with the modem, view incoming signal status, or change settings, which was why I ordered it. With the Spectrum modem you're pretty much blind: you can't view the status on your computer, and there are no meaningful status lights on the front of the modem. If you're having connection issues, it's nice to be able to tell your cable provider what your signal status is when you call for tech support.

Wifi Router compatible with Xfinity
I have been using this router for some years and am very please with the service. It is compatible with Xfinity wifi. Use it for streaming for three televisions, Xbox and computer use simultaneously. Easy install and setup. Prefer to have my own router than paying a rental fee every month. Very satisfied with this product.

Great option for Xfinity 200-300Mbps plans
First off, it's worth noting that the product listing is incorrect when it says 200Mbps is the top speed this modem can do with Xfinity; looking at Xfinity's own list of compatible devices (see photo), this Netgear modem should top out around 370Mbps. I don't pay for that speed, but I can say definitively that it will do more than 200Mbps; in a speed test over my Nest mesh WiFi setup, I got nearly 220Mbps down, so coming right off the modem it was probably a bit quicker still.

In terms of ease of use, I'd say this is about as easy as it gets with Xfinity right now (mid-2023). I hooked it up, did the activation dance, and presto there was internet.

In any case, for those who have a good WiFi router/mesh system of their own, only pay for 200-350Mbps speeds, and don't want to pay extra for one of Xfinity's modem/router combo gateways every month, this fits the bill. My only gripe (and it's minor) is that this modem doesn't have a built in ethernet switch, and thus only has one ethernet port, but that's not surprising for a $50 modem.

Unlike other products in this price range, this is worth it and better!
I recently purchased this modem and a Netgear router to replace a 2-in-1 product made by Arris which was total garbage. I paid ~100 for the Arris product which was suppose to have wifi signal boost, produce up to 100 mbps signal and had a warranty but the product was defective. The average signal strength of the 50 mbps I was paying for was 1-3 mbps and that machine needed restarted literally everytime I used it. It was such a terrible experience and a loss of $100 because the "warranty" was to replace the product if I paid up to $20 in shipping fees! What a joke. So I took the chance to try a new brand and BOY AM I GLAD I DID! The set-up of this modem and counterpart router was so quick and easy and I immediately started have signals well over 100 mbps when I only paid for up to 50! Now I've increased my paid for speed to 100 mbps and I've ran tests on my router/modem just out of curiousity and it pulls up to 180 mbps at times! It's never below 50 mbps. The days of experiencing problems streaming media via firestick, phone, computer is over! I have 3 smart tvs, 2 firesticks, 3 laptops, 3 cell phones and numerous video games using wifi at any given time and I've never seen the modem/router even flinch. This product is a 180-degree turn from the comparable Arris product. I'm never using another manufacturer!
